SAAVOICE CONDEMNS THE RECENT ATTACK ON A Queens SIKH CAB DRIVER and STANDS WITH IMMIGRANTS and PEOPLE OF ALL FAITHS and PRACTICES.

SAAVOICE strongly condemns the attack on the 24-year old Harkirat Singh, a Queens native and recent immigrant of Sikhism faith. On April 16, 2017, about 5:15 A.M., the very passengers he was dropping off in the Bronx, physically attacked him, verbally abused him, and forcefully took the turban that represents the faith of Sikh men. He was left in terror and is now afraid of doing his job and living his normal life.

There have been many recent attacks on the Sikhs. In March, a Sikh woman was attacked in an Oregon temple. Another Sikh man was shot in Washington earlier this month.

SAAVOICE opposes and condemns all forms of attacks on people because of their religion, what people look like, and the color of skin they have.

In these times of crises, there is hope. We must stand together, focus on our shared humanity, and condemn all forms of assault, attack, shooting and killing of our fellow brothers and sisters because what they look like, what color their skin is, what religion they are perceived to practice, what is their nationality, and their beliefs and ways of lives.
